Apple today has released the first public beta for iOS 10. The news comes two days after the firm released the second developer beta. Typically, a public beta doesn’t come until after the third developer beta is released, so hopefully this speaks of the stability of the build.

Apple is calling iOS 10 its biggest iOS release to date, and there is quite a bit that’s new. Users that install today’s build will see an all-new lock screen experience. Swiping to the right will bring you to Spotlight, while swiping left (instead of swiping up) will bring you to the Camera.

Along with revamped apps for Maps, Music, and News, there are new features in Photos, such as grouping your pictures by people and places. Another exciting change is extensions for Messages.

There are also more minor changes; for example, launching the Camera app no longer interrupts music playback. You’ll find that you can remove many of the stock apps, but sadly, you’ll also find that it doesn’t actually free up much space, if any.

You can sign up for Apple’s iOS 10 public beta right here. The site still says “coming soon”, but the build should be available now. In any event, you can sign up for it right now.
